5G. Tennis/badminton hall with IR detector
Choke operation or non-dimmable HF operating devices and two lighting groups
Premises and function
Badminton/tennis hall etc. with several courts without partitions. The lighting is switched on individually for each court using a push-button. Presence on each court is thereafter detected separately by an IR detector that only keeps the lighting activated on the court(s) where a game is in progress. When the activity has ceased the lighting is switched off automatically, or manually using a push-button. Light sources This application shows an example of fittings with 50 Hz choke operation or non-dimmable HF operating devices. Positioning of the detector The detector is positioned in corners and has a lens with a 90° field. To achieve an optimum direction of detection and avoid the detector looking over neighbouring courts, the positioning and direction are important. Parts of the lens field may need to be masked. The mounting height must be 1.8 – 2.0 m. In sports halls Standard Lens 15 is suitable, and for smaller courts, e.g. badminton, Lens 51 can be used. The detectors can be protected against balls using protective gratings. |
System
In an installation for presence control of lighting, users themselves must be able to determine when the lighting is switched on. A logic module (EX-11) that blocks the IR detector upon entry to the court is needed for this. The lighting must not be switched on when someone from a neighbouring court collects a ball or crosses the court. Using a strap, for example, the EX-11 can be programmed for two separate areas with one lighting group in each. In this example the strap in the EX-11 must be in ‘Two Areas’ mode. The lighting is switched on and off using impulse push-buttons in the normal way. However if you forget to switch the lights off, the detector takes over and switches off after the set delay (5 – 7 minutes) when the pitch is not in use. For four playing areas, two EX-11s are used etc. The same EXE-2000 rectifier can provide power for up to 8 EX-11s and 16 PD-2200s. |
