5B. Sports hall with folding partition and IR detectors
50 Hz or non-dimmable HF operating devices and four lighting groups
The premises
This example shows a sports hall that can be subdivided using a folding partition and that has two entrances. It is used for various types of activity, ranging from exercise gymnastics to indoor bandy and handball matches, requiring various strengths of lighting. Light sources The fittings can have conventional 50 Hz operating devices or dimmable HF operating devices. In the latter case the lighting can be dimmed manually using a separate potentiometer that does not affect the presence control. Control system In a sports hall with a folding partition a system with EX-13 logic module has been installed, providing the following function. Each half of the gymnastics hall has individual presence-controlled lighting when the folding partition is closed. The basic light is automatically activated upon entry into the hall section in question provided the natural light is insufficient and the automatic activation is blocked by the light sensor. (The basic light can always be switched on manually.) If the main lighting is required it must be switched on manually. To obtain automatic activation of the basic light the programming straps for Outputs 1 and 3 must be in ‘Auto’ mode. The lighting can also be switched on and off manually using impulse push-buttons. Several buttons can be connected in parallel if activation and deactivation must take place from several places. |
Push-buttons for basic light are kept accessible to the general public. A button or buttons for game lighting should be positioned so that only authorised staff can activate them. All lighting is switched off automatically after the last detection and the set delay period (5 – 7 minutes). EX-13 can also be used for control of the lighting on four levels in a hall without folding partition. If the folding partition is open (magnetic contact closed) the basic light is switched on throughout the hall upon entry, regardless of which detector detects presence. The ventilation throughout the hall is controlled automatically by the presence and the fans start after the set operational delay, thus preventing activation of the ventilation in the event of brief presence. The ventilation can also be started manually using an impulse push-button. When the presence ceases the ventilation fans operate during the set deactivation delay to ensure outgoing ventilation of the premises. Positioning of detectors The PD-2200 IR detector has a Standard Lens 15 with a range of 40 x 40 m. The detectors can be positioned in two alternative ways in accordance with the illustrations. If they are positioned on each side of the folding partition, only the lighting in the half currently in use is switched on. If they are positioned at each end of the hall this provides better detection in the middle. See illustration on next page. See also Application 5A regarding positioning. |
